Almond Scones with Amaretto Butter Recipe
Ingredients:
2 c of flour
2 tsps of baking powder
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
3/4 c of almonds; sliced and toasted lightly
1/2 tsp of extract (almond)
1/3 c of sugar (granulated)
1/2 tsp of salt
1 c of butter
1/2 c of milk
1 pc egg
1 pc eggwhite plus 1/2 tsp of water
1 tsp of sugar (coarse)
1 Tbsp of liqueur (Amaretto)
2 Tbsps of honey
Instructions:
Prepare oven. Heat it to three hundred seventy five degrees Fahrenheit.
For scones: Sift flour, powder (baking), cinnamon, salt & sugar together. Blend 1/2 c butter in w/ a pastry-blender ’til mixture becomes coarse-crumby textured. Stir almonds.
In another bowl, beat whole egg, milk and extract together. Create a small well between your dry-ingredients mix and then pour in liquid. Beat w/ few soft strokes. All dry parts must be well incorporated and dough must form into ball.
Put dough into floured working surface, then pat it into 8-inch sized circle. Place it on bake sheet, then cut it into eight wedges w/ sides touching. Coat lightly w/ eggwhite then glaze & sprinkle w/ coarse-textured sugar. Cool for ten minutes then serve w/ Amaretto-Butter.
For butter (Amaretto): Place honey and butter in processor, beat for few mins ’til fluffy. Combine whip and Amaretto ’til smoothened totally.
