Apple Cheddar Scones Recipe
Ingredients:
1 1/2 c of flour (all-purpose)
3 Tbsps of sugar (granulated)
1/2 tsp of salt
1 pc Gala apple; chopped finely and cored
1 eggwhite (large)
1/2 c of wheat germ (toasted)
2 tsps of baking powder
2 Tbsps of butter
1/4 c of cheese (Cheddar); shredded
1/2 c of low-fat milk
Instructions:
Prepare oven. Heat it to four hundred degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a rounded bake pan (8-inch).
In mixing bowl, mix flour, suga, salt, baking powder & wheat-germ together. Cut butter in using a fork ’til mixture becomes crumbly. Add in cheese and apple.
Beat milk and eggwhite ’til combined. Pour in to dry mixture while beating slowly ’til soft-dough is formed.
Turn out dough into a floured working surface, then knead four times. Have the dough spread out evenly into rounded pan then press deeply w/ a knife in order to create 6 wedges.
Oven for 25-30 mins or ’til top will spring back once pressed gently. Cool ’til warm.
