Apple Rum Buns Recipe
Ingredients:
1 pack of yeast
1 c of apple sauce; strained
1/2 c of butter
1/2 c of water (warm)
1/2 c of sugar (granulated)
1 Tbsp of salt
1 pc of egg
5 c of flour (all-purpose)
1 c of water
Instructions:
In a saucepan combine 1 c of water with butter and let it boil 10 mins. Let it cool ’til lukewarm. Prepare yeast with 1/2 c of water (warm). Combine the flour, sugar, salt, egg and apple sauce.
Punch and knead. Shape the dough forming buns then bake in oven (400 degrees F), about 15-20 minutes. To create the glaze, 1 Tbsp of extract (rum) or 3 Tbsps of rum with 2 Tbsps of water sugar (confectioners’). Drizzle on top of buns.
