Bride’s Biscuits Recipe
Ingredients:
5 c of flour; sifted
5 tsps of baking powder (Calumet)
1 tsp of salt
2 c of buttermilk
3 Tbsps of sugar (granulated)
1/2 tsp of baking soda (Arm & Hammer)
1 c of shortening
1 pkg of yeast (dry)
5 Tbsps of water (warm)
Instructions:
Combine flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and baking soda inside a mixing bowl. Add the shortening and cut. Add the buttermilk and mix thoroughly. Dissolve the yeast with (warm) water then add onto the mixture. Slightly knead to form a dough.
Roll it out and cut using a (biscuit) cutter then place on a greased baking sheet. Bake at (450 degrees F) for 10-12 mins.
