Cheese Biscuits Recipe
Ingredients:
2/3 c of milk
1/4 c of butter (or margarine)
1/4 c shortenning
1 – 1 1/2 c cheese (Cheddar); finely shredded & halved
4 tsps of baking powder
2 c of flour (all purpose)
Instructions:
Preset oven (425 degrees F). Using a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, half a cup of cheese and baking powder.
Cut the shortening in and mix until the mixture looks like crumbs the size of peas. Fashion a crater in the center and pour the milk. Stir until you create a dough.
Knead the dough for fifteen minutes. Flatten dough onto a floured surface into half inch thickness. Afterwards, cut using a two inch biscuit cutter.
Put biscuits on baking tray. Bake for ten minutes ’till cheese has melted. This should take about three to five minutes. Best served hot.
