Citrus Streusel Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
1 pack of cake mix (orange or lemon, 18.25 ozs)
2 Tbsps of sugar (brown)
1 tsp of cinnamon
1/2 c of pecan nuts; chopped coarsely
1 Tbsp of butter (cold)
1 box of pudding (vanilla, instant, small)
8 ozs of cream (sour)
4 pcs of eggs
1/3 c of oil (vegetable)
For the Glaze:
2 – 3 Tbsps of milk
1 c of confectioners’ sugar
Instructions:
Preheat the oven, 350 degrees F. Mix cinnamon and sugar (brown) with 2 Tbsps of (cake) mix. Add butter and mix ’til crumbly. Add the nuts and set mixture aside. Mix the rest of (cake) mix together with oil, sour cream, eggs and (pudding) mix then, beat together 2 mins with speed set MEDIUM. Pour this mixture into two greased 8″ bread pans and sprinkle nut mix on top .
Bake 45-50 minutes ’til toothpick inserted in middle of loaf will come out without sticky crumbs. Allow the bread to be cooled while in pan prior to removing to wire racks. To create the glaze, combine 1 c of confectioners’ sugar with 2 to 3 Tbsps of milk and drizzle on bread while still hot.
