Bread Bowls Recipe
Ingredients:
2-1/2 c of water (warm, 105-115 degrees F)
1 Tbsp of salt
2 pkgs of yeast (active dry)
1 Tbsp of sugar (granulated)
2 Tbsps of oil
6-1/2 to 7-1/2 c of flour (bread)
1 pc of egg; beaten
1 Tbsp of milk
Instructions:
Mix yeast with (warm) water inside a large mixing bowl; stir till dissolved then add sugar, salt, (3 cups) flour, and oil. Beat thoroughly till smooth then add more flour, just enough amount, making the dough stiff. Transfer on a slightly floured surface then knead till elastic and smooth, at about 10-12 mins.
Place the dough onto greased bowl; turn once then cover. Allow to rise till the volume has doubled, at about an hour or more. Grease the outsides of a dozen 10-oz cups and arrange them upside down on greased cooking sheet.
Punch the dough and divide equally to twelve parts. Cover then allow to rest for ten mins. Pat each section to a 6 inch round and place above inverted cups, making it fit properly. Cover it with a plastic wrapper; allow to rise till volume has doubled, at about half an hour.
Mix milk and egg then brush it gently above the dough. Place inside the oven and bake (400 degrees F) till golden-brown or fifteen mins. Gently remove bowls and set the bread upright on the sheet, bake to another five mins.
