Old World Savory Euro Rye Recipe
Ingredients:
1.5 c of flour (all-purpose or bread)
1/2 c of flour (coarse-ground rye)
1 Tbsp of wheat germ (or 2 Tbsps of graham flour)
1.5 tsps of salt
2 Tbsps of gluten
1.5 Tbsps of sugar (brown)
1 c of flour (all-purpose)
1.5 Tbsps of shortening (lard or olive oil)
1 c of water
2 tsps of yeast
Instructions:
Place all ingredients in bread-making machine as instructed by the manufacturer. Add the seeds (caraway) if you prefer a true rye taste. You don’t have to use gluten in the recipe if flour (for bread) is used.
