Chocolate Almond Scones Recipe
Ingredients:
3.5 c of flour
1 tsp of salt
5 tsps of baking powder
3 Tbsps of sugar (granulated)
4 ozs of sweet butter (cold)
2 tsps of almond (extract)
3/4 c of cream (heavy)
1/2 c of almonds; sliced & toasted
1 c of chocolate chips
4 pcs of eggs
Instructions:
Heat oven with a temperature of 425 degrees-F. Mix in baking powder, flour, salt and sugar. Add in the butter ’til crumbly like cornmeal.
Combine the 3 pcs of eggs , cream and almond (extract). Blend ’til dough forms. Mix the almonds and chocolate chip.
Roll dough to 3/4 inch thick over a lightly-floured work table. Slice into triangular shapes. Brush scones with a well beaten egg. Transfer to a greased cookie sheet and bake ’til lightly golden-brown (approximately 10 minutes). Yields a dozen scones.
