Cherry Bread Delight Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 c of butter
1/2 c of sugar (brown, packed)
3/4 c of sugar (granulated)
2 pcs of eggs
1 can of cherries (dark & sweet, 16 ozs); drained with syrup reserved
1/2 tsp of almond extract
1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
2 & 1/4 c of flour
1 tsp of baking powder
1/2 tsp of salt
1/4 c of confectioners’ sugar
Instructions:
Cream granulated sugar, sugar (brown) and butter together then add extracts and eggs, and beat ’til fluffy. Cut cherries to 1/4s and drop into mixture together with 1/4 c of cherry syrup. Using another bowl, combine baking powder, salt as well as flour, then mix them into the egg-cherry mixture.
Carefully pour mixture into greased bread pan. Bake 1 hour, 350 deg Fahrenheit, on oven’s bottommost shelf. Allow bread to be cooled before dusting with powdered sugar.
