Cherry-Filled Scones Recipe
Ingredients:
1/3 c of sugar (granulated)
1 pc of egg
2 Tbsps of water
2 c of baking mix (biscuit)
1 c of sweet cherries (dark); pitted, snipped & drained well
1 Tbsp of butter
1-2 tsps of sugar (granulated)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven with a temperature of 350 degrees-F.
Combine 1/3 c of sugar, baking mix, egg and water ’til dough is formed. Knead dough to form a smooth ball over a work table dusted generously with the baking mix. For 15-20 times, knead dough. Pat dough to 12 inch square. Slice dough to 4 inch squares and spoon a couple of teaspoons of cherries on to the half per square.
Form triangle scones by folding dough. Press the edge of dough for the cherries to be sealed in. Transfer on to ungreased baking sheet. Coat scones with the butter and sprinkle some sugar. Place in oven and bake ’til golden-brown in color (approximately 15-18 minutes). Best served with some whipping cream.
