Chocolate Cherry Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
2 & 3/4 c of flour (all-purpose)
2 tsps of baking powder
1/2 tsp of salt
1/4 tsp of baking soda
1 & 3/4 c of sugar (granulated)
1/2 c of butter; melted
2 pcs of eggs (extra large)
3/4 c of milk or cream
3/4 c of cream (sour)
1 tsp of vanilla extract
2 c of cherries (maraschino); drained
1 c of choco chips
Instructions:
Preheat the oven, 400 deg Fahrenheit. Prepare and grease two pieces of baking pans or a huge one. Mix very well all non-wet ingredients into bowl. Add butter and mix ’til crumby, then add choco chips and cherries. In another bowl, combine sour cream, milk/cream, vanilla and eggs ’til well-blended and smooth.
Fold this mixture into flour mixture ’til incorporated all throughout. Pour into pans then sprinkle top with cherries as well as sugar and bake 5 mins, 400 deg Fahrenheit. Lower temperature, 350 deg Fahrenheit, then bake 35-45 minutes more. Allow bread to be cooled before drizzling with glaze, if desired.
