Chocolate Cobblestone Loaf Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 c of water (boiling)
1 tsp of baking powder
1 & 3/4 c of flour
2 pcs of egg whites
2 yolks of egg
1/2 c of shortening
3/4 c of milk (sour)
1 tsp of baking soda
1/2 c of cocoa
1/2 tsp of salt
1.5 c of sugar (granulated)
1 tsp of vanilla extract
Instructions:
Cream shortening and sugar then mix very well with water, milk (sour) and yolks. Sift non-wet ingredients together then add them to milk mixture. Beat the whites of eggs ’til stiff then pour to milk mixture. Then blend, do not beat.
Grease a bread pan then pour mixture in it. Bake for 25-30 minutes, 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Baking is finished when toothpick inserted into middle of loaf will come out without sticky crumbs.
