Cinnamon Scones Recipe
Ingredients:
2 c of flour
1/4 tsp of salt
2 tsps of baking powder
1/3 c of buttermilk
1/2 tsp of baking soda
1/2 c of butter (cold)
1 pc of egg; separated
1 tsp of water
3 Tbsps of honey
1/4 tsp of cinnamon; ground
2 Tbsps of sugar (granulated)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven with a temperature of 400 degrees-F.
Sift baking powder, flour, salt and soda together inside a large-sized bowl. Add in diced butter ’til crumbly like bread crumbs.
Beat the yolk of an egg, buttermilk and honey ’til well blended inside a small-sized bowl. Add in flour to the mixture. Mix lightly ’til mixture comes together.
Shape the dough lightly to flat circles with hands floured. Pat on a surface lightly-floured to rounds to a 1/2-inch thick. Flour knife and cut to 8-12 wedges. Transfer to a non-stick or greased cookie sheet.
Blend the cinnamon and sugar inside a small-sized. Whisk water and egg white together into another mixing bowl. Coat dough with white wash and sprinkle some cinnamon. Bake for 10-12 minutes ’til golden-brown. Best served warm. This makes 12 pieces.
