Colonial Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
1 Tbsp of applesauce or butter
1/3 c of molasses
1 tsp of salt
1.5 c of water; boiling
1/3 c of cornmeal (yellow)
3.5 c of flour (for bread)
1 pack of yeast
Instructions:
Place the cornmeal in huge bowl then slowly pour the water (boiling), stirring ’til smooth. Allow the mixture to stand and let cool (30 minutes). Add the butter (or applesauce), salt as well as molasses. Put the mix into a pan for bread and add flour. Add the yeast afterward. Bake (Light setting).
