Crusty Bread Bowls Recipe
Ingredients:
2 & 3/4 c of flour (for bread)
1 c of water
1 Tbsp of sugar (granulated)
1 tsp of salt
1.5 tsps of yeast (for bread-making machine)
1 yolk of egg
1 Tbsp of water
Instructions:
Place 1 c water, 2 & 3/4 c of flour (for bread), 1 Tbsp of sugar (granulated), 1 tsp of salt as well as 1.5 tsps of yeast into bread pan, preparing it for the bread-making machine. Set Dough or Manual cycle and prepare six 10-ounce glass cups (oven-safe) for custards by greasing them. Put cups bottoms up on baking sheet (ungreased).
Divide dough to 6 pieces equally and pat/roll each to 7″ circles using a surface, which has been floured lightly. Mold dough on top of outer portions of cups for custards then cover. Allow to rise 15-20 minutes in warm area. Preheat the oven (375 degrees F).
Mix 1 Tbsp water and yolks of eggs then brush carefully on bread shaped in bowls. Then bake (18 minutes) ’til bowls become gold-brown in color. Gently lift bread from cups then allow bread to cool upright above a rack. Stuff bread with stew, chili or anything you want.
