Crusty Home Style Bread Bowls Recipe
Ingredients:
1 c of water
2-3/4 c of flour (bread, Gold Medal Better)
1 Tbsp of sugar (granulated)
1 tsp of salt
1-1/2 tsps of Yeast (bread machine, Fleischmann’s)
1 pc of egg yolk
1 Tbsp of water
Instructions:
Place water, bread flour, sugar, salt, and yeast inside (bread) machine then select “manual” cycle.
Butter outside layer of 6 ten-ounces Pyrex cups. Arrange them upside-down on baking sheet and divide dough into six equal parts. Pat each portion to a 7 inch round above slightly floured board. Shape dough rounds above turned cups. Don’t let dough curl beneath cup edges.
Cover then allow to rise for 15 to 20 mins till slightly puffed. Heat oven (375 degrees F). Mix one tablespoon water with yolk then gently brush over dough. Bake at about 18-22 mins or till bread turns slightly golden.
Gently lift off bread from hot cups. Let it cool upright. This can be used as bowls for stews or any soups that are thick.
