Dilly Casserole Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
1 pkg of yeast (dry)
1/4 c of water (warm, 110 degrees F)
1 c of Cottage Cheese (creamed)
1 Tbsp of onion; minced
2 Tbsps of sugar (granulated)
1 Tbsp of butter (unsalted)
2 tsps of dill seeds
2-1/4 to 2-1/2 c of flour
1 tsp of salt
1/4 tsp of baking soda (Arm & Hammer)
1 pc of egg
Instructions:
Dissolve yeast with warm water then heat the cheese inside a saucepan, turning it lukewarm; add onion, sugar, dill, butter, egg, soda, salt, and dissolved yeast. Add the flour, making the dough stiff. Beat thoroughly and cover saucepan. Let it rise inside its place (85-90 degrees Fahrenheit) till doubled, at about 50-60 mins.
Stir and transfer on a greased casserole. Allow to rise at about 30-40 mins. Bake till golden-brown for 40-45 mins. Brush gently with melted butter and sprinkle (Kosher) salt.
