English Muffin Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
5 c of flour (all purpose)
1-1/2 tsps of yeast (active dry)
1-1/2 tsps of salt
1 Tbsp of sugar (granulated)
1-1/2 Tbsps of vegetable oil (or canola oil)
2 c of water (very warm)
Cornmeal
Butter
Instructions:
Combine flour, yeast, salt, and sugar inside mixing bowl; add oil and water. Mix them thoroughly then cover bowl using a plastic wrapper and towel. Allow to stand (at room temperature) for 6 hrs or overnight.
Butter two (bread) pans then sprinkle cornmeal. Cut dough, w/o kneading, to two equal portions. Place each piece onto buttered pans then preheat the oven (350 degrees F). Cover dough then allow to rise till volume has doubled or about 1.5-2 hours. Bake inside preheated oven for an hour. Allow to cool in the pans.
