Homemade Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
2 c of V-8
3 Tbsps of sugar (granulated)
2 Tbsps of butter
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of basil (scant)
1 tsp of oregano (scant)
1/2 c of cheese (cheddar); grated
1/4 c of ketchup
1 pack of yeast (dry)
1/4 c of water (warm)
7 c (or more) of flour
Instructions:
Over low flame, combine butter and V-8 ’til butter dissolves. Put in the herbs, salt, sugar, ketchup as well as the cheese. Leave mixture ’til lukewarm.
Combine tomato mix into 3 c of the flour as well as yeast. Combine until mixture smoothens. Slowly put in portions of flour to the mixture ’til dough is created. Continue kneading the dough (8-10 minutes) ’til it becomes elastic and smooth. Put dough in an oil-brushed bowl and leave for 1.5 hours or ’til it doubled in size.
Knead the dough again then cut in 2 parts. Cover the dough and allow it to stand for 10 mins. Form dough to loaves then arrange on greased pans then leave to rise, covered, for another hour. Put in the oven set (350 degrees F) for 25-35 minutes.
