Homemade Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
1 pack dried yeast
1 pc egg
1/2 c of shortening
8 c of flour
1/2 c of warmed water
3 tsps of salt
1/2 c of sugar (granulated)
1 & 1/2 c of water
Instructions:
Have yeast dissolved in warmed water. Blend sugar and shortening then combine the yeast. Add in egg.
Combine flour and salt together. Alternately add water & flour mix to mixture of yeast ’til dough becomes bit dried and easy to handle. Cover w/ towel and keep in a warm corner. Allow to rise ’til doubled in bulk (3-4 hrs).
Punch dough down, then knead. In a floured surface, form your dough to loaves. Place them on greased loaf-bread pans. Allow to rise ’til doubled in bulk.
Bake dough at three hundred degrees Fahrenheit for 20-30 mins ’til browned. Brush w/ softened butter.
