Honey Bread Sticks Recipe
Ingredients:
16 oz of hot-roll mix
1/4 c of honey (pure)
3/4 c of water (hot, 120-130 degrees F)
1 pc of egg (large)
2 Tbsps of softened butter (or margarine)
Cornmeal (as needed)
1 Tbsp of water
1 pc of egg white
For the Toppings:
Seeds (caraway, poppy, and toasted sesame)
Lemon pepper
Cheese (parmesan); grated
Sea salt
Instructions:
Combine water, hot-roll mix, honey, butter, and egg inside a mixing bowl then prepare the dough as stated in the package instructions. Cover the dough and allow to rest for five mins.
Divide the dough equally in half. Roll out each half on a slightly floured board and pat to 12×9 inch rectangle. Slice each half crosswise to strips (1 inch thick). Grease a 17×14 inch cooking sheet then dust over cornmeal.
Combine (1 tablespoon) water and egg white; brush onto dough then sprinkle any of the toppings.Twist; arrange on the sheet then cover with cloth. Let it rise till volume has doubled, at about half an hour.
Bake inside preheated oven (375 degrees F) for 12-14 mins or till slightly browned. Take out the bread sticks from the sheet. Allow to cool.
