Italian Herb Focaccia Bread With Three Cheese And Caramelized Onions Recipe
Ingredients:
2 c of warmed water
4-4 & 1/2 c of bread flour
1/4 c of oil (olive)
3/4 c of cheese (Asiago); shredded
3/4 c of cheese (Gruyne); shredded
2 tsps of rapid-rise yeast
1 Tbsp of seasalt
2 pc onions; cut into slices & caramelized
3/4 c of cheese (Cheddar); shredded
2 Tbsps of Italian-herb seasoning
Instructions:
In caramelizing onions, place 2 Tbsps of oil in saucepan over mid-heat. Saute onions ’til translucent in color. Sprinkle the onions w/ 1 Tbsp of sugar, pepper and salt. Continue cooking ’til onions soften and caramelize well.
Place dried yeast and warmed water in electric-mixer bowl. Set aside for five minutes.
Add in flour, 1/4 c oil & salt. Mix for 6 to 7 mins ’til dough becomes sticky yet manageable. Have dough covered well w/ oil & damp towel.
When your dough rises completely, remove from bowl then put in 15 x 10-inch oiled bake sheet. Spread dough over bake sheet to cover entire surface.
Allow to rest firmly on bake sheet ’til doubled. Once done, use fingertips and press dough lightly. Spread onions (caramelized), herb powders and cheeses all over dough, then press lightly. Allow to rise again.
Brush top w/ oil then bake it at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-25 mins or ’til golden-browned. Cool before slicing.
