Key Lime Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
1 c of walnuts; chopped
4 pcs of eggs (large); beaten slightly
1 c of milk
2 Tbsps of Key lime (juice)
1 tsp of vanilla (extract)
2 Tbsps of lime zest
3 c of all purpose flour
1 tsp of salt
2.5 tsps of baking powder (Calumet)
2 Tbsps of Key lime (juice)
2/3 c of sugar (granulated)
2/3 c of butter
2 c of sugar (granulated)
Instructions:
Grease two baking pans. Beat sugar with butter. Mix in eggs, blend well. Add key lime juice, extract and lime zest. Mix thoroughly. Set it aside. Combine Calumet, salt and flour. Add in a bit of milk to dry ingredients then add in a bit of butter mixture alternately ’til well blended. Mix in walnuts; blend well.
Divide the batter equally into two baking pans. Bake in a preheated oven with a with a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit ’til brown for approximately 50-60 minutes. For the glaze, combine key lime juice with 2/3 cups of sugar. Pour over bread when done baking.
