Lemon Poppy Seed Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
3 c of all purpose flour
1.5 tsps of salt
1.5 tsps of baking powder
1.5 Tbsps of poppy seeds
1.5 c of sugar (refined)
1 & 1/8 c of vegetable oil
1.5 c of milk
3 pcs of eggs
1 tsp of vanilla (extract)
2 tsps of lemon (extract)
1/4 c of orange juice
3/4 c of sugar (refined)
1/2 tsp of extract (lemon)
Instructions:
Grease lightly 3 8 x 4 inch loaf pans. Combine 2.5 cups of sugar, seeds, baking powder, salt and flour into a large-sized bowl. Mix in lemon (extract), vanilla, oil, milk and eggs ’til smooth for about a minute, Fill pans evenly with batter and bake into a preheated oven with a temperature of 350 deg Fahrenheit for 50-55 minutes ’til cake tester comes clean after inserting. Allow to slightly cool in for ten minutes.
Combine juice of an orange with extract of choice and remainder of sugar. Mix well. Drizzle glaze over bread while hot then set aside to completely cool.
