Oatmeal Batter Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
3/4 c of boiled water
3 Tbsps of shortening
1 tsp of salt
1 pack of dried yeast
1/4 c warmed water
1/4 c of honey
1 & 1/4 c of flour plus another 1 & 1/2 c
1/2 c of old-fashioned oats; rolled
1/4 tsp of apple-pie spice
1/2 tsp of sugar (granulated)
1 lightly beaten egg
Instructions:
Stir water, shortening, oats, apple-pie spice, salt and honey together inside bowl ’til well blended. Allow to cool.
Separately mix warmed water and sugar, stirring well ’til sugar dissolves. Add in yeast mix, 1 &1/4 c of flour and egg into oatmeal mix. Beat it well.
Add in gradually 1 & 1/2 c of flour, beating ’til batter’s smoothened. Spread into oiled 9×5″ loaf-shaped pan. Have it covered w/ towel. Allow to rise for 45 mins.
Bake it for an hour at three hundred seventy-five degrees Fahrenheit.
