Orange Marmalade Scones Recipe
Ingredients:
Orange marmalade
1/2 c of shortening
1 Tbsp of baking powder
2 c of all purpose flour
3 Tbsps of sugar (granulated)
2 Tbsps of orange zest
1 pc of egg
1/2 tsp of salt
1/3 c of orange juice
Instructions:
Preheat the oven with a temperature of 450 degrees-F.
Sift baking powder, flour, sugar and salt together. Add the orange zest. Combine shortening, juice and egg. Blend well. On a floured work table, knead dough six times.
Pat to an 8 inch square 1/2-inch thick. Carve dough to quarters. Half per quarter diagonally and cut again the triangles to produce sixteen scones.
Make a depression on the center of each scone. Fill with half a teaspoon of marmalade. Transfer to a cookie sheet and bake ’til golden for about ten minutes.
Best served warm with marmalade and butter.
