Philadelphia Sticky Buns Recipe
Ingredients:
1 & 1/4 c of milk
1 pkg of yeast (dry)
1/4 c of warm water
5 c of flour; sifted
1.5 tsps of salt
2 tsps of cinnamon
1 Tbsp of sugar (granulated)
1/2 c of shortening
2 pcs of eggs
3/4 c of sugar (granulated)
1/4 c of margarine or butter
1/2 c of brown sugar
1/2 c of walnuts; chopped
1/2 c of currants or raisins
1 c of corn syrup (light or dark)
Instructions:
Heat milk and allow to cool to warm. combine yeast and water and set it aside for ten mins. Add in milk. Mix in salt, a couple cups of flour and a tablespoon of sugar. Blend ’til smooth. Leave mixture into warm room.
Cream shortening ’til light. Mix in three-fourths cup of sugar. Beat egg a piece separately. Whisk in well. When yeast mixture is foamy, whisk with the shortening gradually. Mix in the three cups of flour. Leave it to rise into warm room with cover.
Equally half dough. Roll out each piece into 1/4-inch thick. Coat with margarine or butter. Lightly scatter with a cinnamon-sugar mixture. Sprinkle on raisins, currants or nuts. Roll like a jelly roll.
Cut into 1.5 inch pieces. Allow to sit in two deep 9 inch greased pans lined with the syrup one-fourths inch full. Set it aside to rise with cover.
Bake in an oven temperature of 350 degrees-F ’til brown for about 45-50 mins. Remove from the pans right away.
