Pineapple Upside-Down Gingerbread Recipe
Ingredients:
3 Tbsps of butter (unsalted)
4 Tbsps & 6 Tbsps of sugar (brown)
4 pcs of pineapple slices
8 pcs of cherries (Maraschino)
6 Tbsps of melted butter
1 pc of egg (large)
1-1/4 c of flour
1 tsp of soda (Arm & Hammer)
1 tsp of ginger (ground)
3/4 tsp of cinnamon (ground)
1/4 tsp of cloves (ground)
1/4 tsp of salt
1/2 c of molasses
1/2 c of water (hot)
Instructions:
Preheat oven at 350 deg Fahrenheit. Soften the unsalted butter on an 8 inch square pan then add (4 tablespoons) sugar; mix them well. Arrange the cherries and sliced pineapples above the mixture of sugar inside the pan. Combine (melted) butter, (6 tablespoons) sugar, egg; beat them well.
Combine flour, soda, salt, and spices. Combine hot water and molasses. Alternately add flour mixture and hot mixture onto the mixture of butter. Pour batter onto the prepared pan on top of the fruits. Bake inside preheated oven for 45-50 mins. When done, let it stand for five mins before turning it out on a platter.
