Pita Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
1 & 1/4 c of water
1 tsp of salt
3 & 1/2 c of flour (for bread)
2 Tbsps of oil (olive)
2 tsp of yeast (instant)
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients into the pan based on the manufacturer’s instructions. Set cycle for Dough. Afterwards, lay dough above surface (floured) and knead prior to shaping into ball, smooth one.
Divide dough into eight pieces, with per piece forming into smooth balls then flattened to about 1″ thick. Afterward, cover dough using towel, which is damp, then let it rest (10 minutes).
Preheat the oven (475 degrees F). Put baking sheet inside it while heating. For each dough, flatten into circle 1/4″ to 1/3″ thick.
Spray oven using water and immediately throw first set of flattened balls on the hot baking sheet. Lower the heat (450 degrees F) then bake (3 minutes). Take off dough from the oven then let it cool above a rack. Do same procedures for each dough. If the surface of baking sheet is huge, two pieces can be put into oven at together.
After three minutes, dough must be remain white in color and looks like balloon. Don’t brown dough.
After cooling and deflating the pitas, cover using towel that has been wet. When everything are done, let them cool completely and store in zip-locks. Consume within 24 to 48 hours. When cutting, two opposite sides should separate easily, forming a pocket.
