Pita Recipe
Ingredients:
1 pack of yeast
1 & 1/3 c of water (warm)
1 Tbsp of oil (vegetable)
1 tsp of sugar (granulated)
1 tsp of salt
3-4 c of flour
Instructions:
Dissolve the yeast into the water (warm) then add the salt, oil and sugar. Afterwards, drop 2 c of flour then beat the mixture ’til smooth.
Add more flour ’til dough can be handled easily. Then knead ten minutes and cover with damp towel. Allow dough to increase its size twice within approximately an hour.
Beat dough down prior to using, then divide it into six portions equally. Form balls using dough, then cover with towel and allow their sized to increase 30 more minutes.
Form each dough into 6″ or 7″ circles with 1/8″ thickness and place two pieces opposite each other in 3 baking sheets (ungreased). Cover once again and allow them to rise thirty more minutes. Then bake (450 degrees F) for ten minutes ’til brown and puffed.
