Poppy Seed-Swiis Cheese Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
3-1/2 c of flour (all purpose)
1-1/2 Tbsps of baking powder (Calumet)
1 Tbsp of sugar (granulated)
1/2 tsp of salt
1/3 c of butter (or margarine)
2 c of cheese (Swiss); shredded
1 Tbsp of poppy seeds
2 pcs of eggs; beaten lightly
1-1/2 c of milk
2 tsps pf prepared mustard
Instructions:
Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar inside a mixing bowl. Add the butter and cut till the mixture looks like (coarse) meal. Add seeds and cheese; stir thoroughly. Combine milk, mustard, and eggs; add onto the dry mixture. Stir gently till moistened. Don’t over stir.
Transfer onto a 9×5 inch (loaf) pan and bake for one hr and ten mins, 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Tent with foil, if almost browned after fifty mins, if it’s necessary. Let the bread cool inside the pan, about ten mins before taking out from the pan.
