Provolone Cheese Scones Recipe
Ingredients:
1.5 c of oats (rolled)
1/4 c of sugar (brown); packed
1 Tbsp of baking powder
1/2 tsp of salt
1 tsp of cream of tartar
1/3 c of milk
1 pc of egg
1/2 c of cheese (Provolone, 2 ozs); grated finely
2/3 c of butter; melted
Instructions:
Sift oats, flour, salt, tartar, baking powder and sugar together into a large-sized bowl. Mix in the Provolone.
Beat egg, butter and milk together into a small-sized bowl. Combine wet to flour mixture. Stir ’til mixed well. Shape into a ball. Roll out over a lightly-floured work table and into an 8 inch circle.
Carve out 8-12 wedges and bake over a greased cookie sheet inside oven at 425 degrees-F for 12-15 minutes ’til light golden-brown. Yields 8-12 pieces
