Quick French Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
1 pack of yeast
1 & 1/4 Tbsps of salt
2 c of water (lukewarm)
1 Tbsp of sugar (granulated)
5-6 c of flour
Instructions:
Dissolve yeast in water; pour the sugar and salt. Add 1 c each time of flour in yeast mixture while beating and stirring using wooded spoon. Pour additional flour if necessary, to create dough that is smooth.
Then brush dough using oil then cover it using dish towel. Allow dough to increase twice its size in warm area. Afterwards, work on dough on kneading surface that has been floured and then shape it to French bread loaves (long). Place them on cookie sheet and drizzle cornmeal on it then allow dough to stand and rise (5 minutes).
Using knife, create indentions on top of loaves then brush using water. Place bread in oven (cold). Preheat oven (400 degrees F) and put water-filled (boiling) pan in bottom shelf. Bake loaves (45 minutes) ’til crusty.
