Red Chili Biscuits Recipe
Ingredients
2 c of flour (all-purpose)
1/3 c of shortening
1 Tbsp of sugar (granulated)
1 Tbsp of chili powder
1 Tbsp of baking powder
1/2 c of shredded cheese (Cheddar)
1 Tbsp of salt
1/2 c of sour dough starter
Instructions:
Combine sugar, salt, flour and baking powder. Cut lard in ’til it appears similar to a fine-coarse meal. Add in cheese, sour dough starter, and chili-powder.
Mix ’til flour moistens. Put mixture in floured working surface. Lightly knead and then pat into half-inch thickness. Cut w/ 2 & 1/2-inch biscuit cutter.
Arrange on greased baking pan. Oven for 20-25 mins at four hundred degrees Fahrenheit.
