Russian Black Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
2 Tbsps of vinegar (cider)
2.5 c of flour (bread)
1.5 c of water
1 c of flour (rye)
2 Tbsps of corn syrup (dark)
2 Tbsps of margarine
1 tsp of salt
1 Tbsps of sugar (brown)
3 Tbsps of cocoa (powder, unsweetened)
1 tsp of coffee granules (instant)
1 Tbsp of seed (caraway)
1/4 tsp of see (fennel) – optional
2 tsps of yeast (dry, active)
Instructions:
Put ingredients in the machine based on manufacturer’s manual. Process on regular setting (for crust), wheat (whole) (for cycle). Lift off bread away in pan and then place above wire rack. Let it stand for an hour then slice.
