Sugar Cubes Orange Biscuits Recipe
Ingredients:
2 c of flour self-rising); sifted
1/4 c of shortening
18-20 sugar cubes (small)
Orange rind; grated
1/2 c of milk
1/4 c of fresh juice (orange)
Instructions:
Prepare oven. Heat it to four hundred twenty-five degrees Fahrenheit.
Combine flour and rind in a bowl. With the use of a fork, blend in shortening to flour ’til texture is coarse. Add in milk, enough to make a softened biscuit dough.
Once done, turn it out to a slightly floured working surface. Knead lightly ’til smoothened. Pat into half-inch thick. Cut w/ floured two-inch cookie cutter, then arrange on plain bake sheet.
Have the cubes dipped into juice. Press one cube on every biscuit top. Oven ’til browned (10-12 mins).
