Sunday Rolls Recipe

Ingredients:

1/4 c of water (warm)
2 packs of yeast
3/4 c of sugar (granulated)
1 c of milk
1/2 c of butter (unsalted)
2 Tbsps of shortening (Crisco)
1 tsp of salt
1 c of potatoes; mashed
2 pcs of eggs
4.5 – 5 c of flour (bread)
Butter; melted

Instructions:

In huge mixing bowl, mix yeast into water. Under low flame, melt shortening as well as 1/2 c of butter together with salt, sugar and milk using a heavy small pan. Let cool ’til lukewarm.

Combine mixture to yeast then allow to stand 5 mins. Add potatoes and eggs then mix adequate amount of flour to create dough that is soft to touch. Allow dough to double its size while covered with towel 1.5-2 hours.

Spread flour on the counter then knead dough ’til elastic and smooth. If necessary, put more flour in order for dough to be workable. Roll-out dough at 1/2″ thick.

Using a 3″ cutter (for biscuit) cut though in rounds. Graze 1/2 surface of top of rolls with butter (melted) then fold unbuttered side on it, letting the top half extend about 1/2″ the bottom half. Put them on oiled cookie sheet closely together. Let it stand, covered for another hour until size doubled.

Bake in preheated oven (400 degrees F) 10 mins and lower temperature (350 degrees F). Bake for another 10-12 mins ’til browned. Rolls are best serve when hot.
