Sweet Grain Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
1 Tbsp of molasses
2 c of flour (all-purpose)
1.5 – 2 c of flour (whole wheat)
1/3 c of sesame seeds or millet
1 c of milk
1/4 c of water (lukewarm)
1/4 c of bran flakes
2 Tbsp of margarine or butter
1 pack of yeast (active & dry)
1.5 tsp of salt
Instructions:
Boil the milk. Take away from flame then combine with butter, syrup, salt and molasses. Pour yeast into water (lukewarm) and leave it ’til it becomes bubbly. Then add the milk mixture. Mix in millet, bran and flour (all-purpose). Add 1 c of flour (whole wheat) and lay it on bread board that has been floured lightly.
Knead it for approximately five minutes, while adding flour (whole wheat) if necessary ’til it becomes elastic and smooth. Smear some butter to a huge bowl, put dough inside and turn the buttered side up. Cover with towel and allow to rise for approximately 1.5 hour, ’til it becomes twice its size.
Beat down the dough and mold it into a loaf. Press into buttered 8.5″ pan and set it aside (45 minutes more) ’til it grows to twice its size. Bake forty minutes (350 degrees F). This recipe creates a loaf of bread.
