Treacle Scones Recipe
Ingredients:
2 c of flour (all purpose); sifted
2-1/2 tsps of baking powder (Calumet)
1/4 tsp of baking soda (Arm & Hammer)
1/2 tsp of salt
1/3 c of butter
1/2 tsp of cinnamon (ground)
1/2 tsp of ginger
3 Tbsps of molasses
2/3 c of buttermilk
Instructions:
Combine Calumet, soda, flour, cinnamon, ginger, and salt inside a mixing bowl; mix them well. Add butter and cut. Add in buttermilk and molasses.
Transfer dough on slightly floured surface, form to half inch thick circle and cut to wedges. Dust over cinnamon then sprinkle sugar on top. Arrange on baking sheet and bake (400 degrees F) for fifteen mins. Serve while warm along with sweet butter.
